RING OF FIRE SELECTED AS THE ONLY GROUP FROM THE STATE OF OREGON TO PERFORM AT THE INAUGURATION OF PRESIDENT-ELECT GEORGE W. BUSH | Hillsboro, Ore., December 26, 2000 - Ring of Fire, a handbell choir from Tualatin Valley Junior Academy in Hillsboro has been selected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee to travel to Washington D.C. and perform as a part of the Inaugural Parade of President-elect George W. Bush. The group received the invitation Friday by phone after sending in a demo videotape of several pieces they perform to the Inaugural Committee earlier this month. They were the only group from the state of Oregon selected to perform at this historic event. The group is beginning to work to raise the $10,000 that will be necessary to send these thirteen 12-16 year-olds to the opportunity of a lifetime.
